August Happenings + Goals

This summer has been flying by in spite of our attempts at an intentionally slow summer. Each July and August, we try to either pause or take a light wedding schedule to allow for much-needed time to recover and rejuvenate for the coming fall season. It always seems to go by so quick! So as August arrives, I want to spend the next few weeks soaking up all that is good about summer and preparing for all that is to come in the fall.

Each month, I make a monthly mood board—more for fun than anything— to share with the rest of my monthly wallpapers (which you can check out here). It’s a fun way to recognize the start of the month and pause and reflect over my goals and hopes for the coming month.

Here are some of my goals/things I’m excited about/my focus for August + the rest of the summer. I hope this serves as encouragement for you to pause and think about the coming month. I would love to hear from you— what are you excited about this August or what are some of your goals?

things i’m looking forward to

— family trip to Idaho, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons! (if you have any travel recommendations for the area, PLZ share in the comments!)

— weekend trip to my hometown to see friends, new babies, and a couple’s wedding shower

— a month without having to work on the weekends

— starting my fall veggie garden

— continuing our weekly Schlitterbahn date night

— soaking up time in the river!

THINGS I WANT TO ACCOMPLISH

— a couple home projects (just need to get Grant on board)

— creating recipes for fall weddings and placing flower orders

— sending out new-bride gifts! (something new that I want to do regularly)

— put together my order for my fall shop restock + get it ordered

— reestablish daily routine for the fall

— write regularly and create blog content

things i want to focus on

— cultivating simplicity in my life both in my physical surroundings, spending habits and my. schedule

— spending time with Jesus regularly and spending quality time in prayer

– reading in the mornings and evenings (first on my list are Abundant Simplicity and A Praying Life)

— sticking to our family budget

— trying new recipes and eating at home more

— establishing boundaries with my phone and screen time

Although August isn’t typically my favorite month of the year— writing out my goals and things I’m excited about really does make me excited for this new month and I hope it does the same for you! Happy August!

xoxo,
